WONDERLAST LIPGLOSS- SLEEK

WONDERLAST LIPGLOSS- SLEEK

I'm a big fan of Sleek eyeshadows palette.
Lately, I've tried a few of their lips products and I quite like them.
Here's what they have to say about their Wonderlast Lipgloss:

"A combination of a highly pigmented long-lasting colour and a moisturising clear gloss with non-sticky, glossy properties.
The dual ended product will provide the lips with a medium coverage of colour and shine.
First apply the long lasting coloured pigment, leave for 45 seconds to dry before applying the moisturising clear gloss. The top coat (clear gloss) is used to seal the initially applied colour onto the lips making it last much longer and lock moisture into the lips."

I own it in -Oriental Spice- and -Crimson Fire-.
To me, this product it's not a gloss but a liquid lipstick.
Yes, it made more sense in my mind.
They NEVER dry on my lips, last a lot and are really affordable.

GLOSSY FULL COULEUR- MUFE

GLOSSY FULL COULEUR- MUFE

I really like Make Up Forever products and this is probably my favorite gloss of all time.
I use to think that gloss was -just gloss-, something you use when you just can't be bothered with lipstick.
I changed my mind when I tried this.
This is what the official site says about it:

"GLOSSY FULL COULEUR is a gel-textured and long-lasting lip gloss, that leaves lips ultra shiny.
Available in 9 shades, it colors the lips and lights them up with an unparalleled mirror effect.
The range features bold pop-art and nude colors to apply directly to the lips or layer over lipstick.
Its mentholated fragrance reinforces the iced, frosty effect of the gloss."

I own the 03 shade, Vibrant Coral.
I fell in love with this gloss, is non-sticky, it lasts a lot and has a great glossy finish that is perfect for my usual day look.
What do you think about this product?

BLUSH-MAC BREATH OF PLUM

BLUSH-MAC BREATH OF PLUM

Breath of Plum  is the only MAC's blush I currently own.
The lovely sales assistant at my fave MAC store made me buy it and I love it ever since.
It's quite dark but it's a sheertone and it's not heavy, at least in my opinion.
It has a pink undertone so it turns out quite natural on my skin.
I would love to try more MAC's blush, any advice?

BLUSH VARIATION-YSL

BLUSH VARIATION-YSL

I love YSL.
My fave dress is a black YSL long sleeved that I wore for my 18th birthday.
Just looking at it makes me smile.
Anyway, this summer I found a great blush with a great price at Sephora.
Sephora's sales usually disappoint me, but this very time they didn't.
I bought YSL's variation blush in the -Coral Sand- shade.
Here's how the official site describes it:

"Dress cheeks in a sensual flush of color with this ultra-chic compact that seamlessly blends matte and iridescent textures to create a shimmery, lit-from-within look. Incredibly versatile, this blush colors, contours and highlights to create any effect—from natural to glamorous. The beautifully bendable formula contains Self-adapting Pigments that capture and transform light’s intensity into a vibrant color source that complements any complexion. Remarkably silky texture blends beautifully for buildable, custom color."

I really like this blush, is quite light for the summer time -I tan quite easily- but I'm quite sure I'm
going to use it a lot in the winter.

TINTED MOISTURIZER

TINTED MOISTURIZER

During the year, my fave foundation is "Hello Flawless!" by Benefit.
It's one of my favorite products and I've already blogged about it.
Anyway, in the summertime I prefer using tinted moisturizers.
This year, I've tried two of them.
Nivea's Tinted Moisturizer, here's the only link I could find.
I have it in the darker shade and it's just the right color.
It's really light on my skin, it's easy to use, it has a light to medium coverage and it's really cheap.
Sadly, it doesn't last a lot on my dry-normal skin and my face gets quite shiny too fast.
The other one I've tried is Dior Hydra Move Crème Teintée, I use the 03 shade.
The price is actually quite high, but I totally love this product.
It's light on my skin, like the Nivea one, but it has a great coverage.
It lasts all day long even in the hot sicilian summer, it moisturizes really  and has a great matt-but not too matt- finish.
And, last but not least, it has a great floral scent.
Have you tried any other tinted moisturizers I should try?
I've heard wonders about the Laura Mercier one!

With love,
S.

THE LOVE OF MY LIFE

THE LOVE OF MY LIFE

Finding the perfect foundation is like finding true love.
It's a difficult task, you can find a good foundation that feels right but it's not THE ONE.
When you find it, you just know it.
You know that you want to spend your life with it, that you just couldn't live without it.
It makes you feel beautiful, happy, flawless.
That's how Hello Flawless! makes me feel.
Here's what Benefit says about it:

"This silky powder cover-up glides on naturally sheer and layers beautifully for customized coverage with SPF protection. Complete with brush and sponge and dual application lesson."

I love this product, I use it on a daily basis.
It's super natural, it makes me feel like I'm not wearing anything but I know it's there, covering everything that needs to be covered.
Have you tried this foundation?
Do you like it?

POUT POLISH - SLEEK

POUT POLISH - SLEEK

I own this product in -Chocolate Kiss- and -Pink Cadillac-.
Here's the site description:

"A tinted lip conditioning balm formulated with natural oils such as Almond Oil, Shea Butter, Avocado Extract and Vitamin A, C and E to help condition the lips and lock in moisture.
It also includes SPF15 to help protect the lips from sun exposure.
Using a lip brush or fingers, apply a small amount to the upper and lower lips for a sheer wash of colour and gloss
. "

I like the pigmentation, the way they moisturize and the tiny little price.
But, and it's a big but to me, if I carry it with me I have to use my finger to apply it and that's something I don't really like.

S.

I know, I know you saw it, I know you love it already.
BUT I DON'T CARE!
I'm totally in love with this ad, I've been watching it thousands of times and I just can't get enough.

I'M OH SO BORING

I'M OH SO BORING

As I've previously said, my makeup is totally boring.
I love bright colors but, somehow, I always end up using neutral shades.
Today I'll talk with you about my fave neutrals eyeshadows.
First of all, the famous/infamous NAKED palette.
Everybody has it, everybody loves it.
I could spend my whole life using just this lovely product every single day.
But someone said: "A girl can never have too many neutral eyeshadows."
That someone is me, but still.
So here are my other trusted allies for my everyday makeup:
Four MAC eyeshadows:
Swiss Chocolate:
I love chocolate. I love brown. How could I not love this eyeshadow?
Bronze:
This color is just great. Shimmery but not too shimmery for daytime.
Show Stopper:
A deep matt brown, I love to use it by itself when I'm in a hurry, paired with MAC blacktrack.
With these neutral shades I often use Naked Lunch as highlighter.
However, I appreciate Essence's eyeshadows just as much.
With their tiny little price and their great quality, who doesn't love them?
Get Ready is the perfect color, I bought it twice and I'm going to repurchase it soon.
Metropolitan is quite similar to Get Ready, same amount of shimmer in it, but It's a lighter brown.
Fabulous is my choice for night time, it can be used both wet and dry.
Another often-used product for my everyday makeup is an H&M palette.
Gold Digger is a great product, the colors are highly pigmented and last all day.
I couldn't find a nice pic on the official site, so here's the link to a post by Cotton Candy.

So here are my neutral choices, do you have any advice?

With love,

WHEN IN DOUBT, GO WITH THE CAT EYE

WHEN IN DOUBT, GO WITH THE CAT EYE
That's a great opening line don't you think?
Too bad I JUST CAN'T MAKE A DECENT CAT EYE.
I've seen thousands and thousands of tutorial, read every single tip I could find on the web, but still..
I'd love to go out rocking this look:

(source:taaz.com)

I'm not Eva Mendes, sigh, but that perfect black line seems like something I could achieve..
When I give it a shot I often end up looking like this:

Somehow, my eyeliner is all over my face and I end up transforming my cat eye-wannabe in a boring-smoky eye.
Anyway, I have a couple of great eyeliners.
Products that I usually buy for trying -and failing- to get the cute kitty look.
My inability to recreate what I want it's not my babies fault (yes, I'm quite attached to my makeup, but who cares) but mine.
So here are my fave eyeliners:

Midnight In Paris by Essence is MAC's BlackTrack cheapest brother.
It goes on just as smoothly and lasts all day long.
Essence's Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner is REALLY waterproof, perfect for when I know that I'm going to cry. And I do cry a lot, so I've tested it quite well.
I like these products but I simply ADORE MAC's Superslick Liquid Eyeliners.
I bought the first one, Marked For Glamour, with the Feline LE.
Yes these cats are like a persecution.
Anyway, it's a great eyeliner, super easy to apply and with a great color.
A month ago I bought my second SLE, Desires & Devices and I can't way to get my hand on the next one. I'm in love with Signature Blue, what do you think?

With love,

S.

BENEFIT-B.right Radiant Skincare

BENEFIT-B.right Radiant Skincare

When Benefit came out with their skincare line, my skin screamed with joy.
I've never been really interested in my skin, I just love makeup, removing it from my face was the closest thing to skincare I ever did.
But my love for Benefit made me give it a shot.
I bought most of the products in my latest london trip and the rest today, at the local Sephora.
This line is affordable, easy to use and it actually works.
Here's what Benefit's official site says about it.
The Triple Performing Facial Emulsion with SPF 15 is just great.
It's light on my skin, it makes me feel hydrated and I loved it in this long and hot summer.
The It's Potent! Eye Cream it's perfect for my dark circles, since I've started using it my darkcircles situation it's getting better.
The Refined Finish Facial Polish helps me brighten up my skin and it's probably the product I like the most.
Today I bought the Remove It Make Up Remover and the Total Moisture Face Cream, my skin is quite dry in autumn/winter time.
Have you tried any product from this line?
With love,
S.

MAC&GREEN

MAC&GREEN
My make up is, most of the times, boring.
I have every sort of colorful eyeshadow, glittery eyeliners, bright lipsticks.
So, almost everyday, I settle for a brownish eye look, black eyeliner, soft blush and nude lipstick.
(A post about my neutral eyeshadows is coming soon!)
Anyway this summer brought something different.
I decided to play with something a little more fun.
Today I'm going to talk with you about the green MAC products I've been using and loving in the last months.
Tarnish eye kohl is probably the product I've used the most among these four.
Here's how the official site describes it:

"A soft-on pencil liner that lines, defines and shades the eyes with rich colour and a silky-smooth, matte/pearl finish. Ophthalmologist tested."

I love MAC's eye kohl and Tarnish is becoming one of my favorites.

Tarnish is a deep metallic green, I've used it for every big night out this summer, smudging it for a smoky look or by itself.
Another product is the Big Bounce Shadow in Extra Charged.
You've probably already read every review about them.
I agree with XSPARKAGE, they just can't be used by themselves.
Anyway I loved its effect with a eyeshadow on top, I've used it as a base with loads o different  colors.
I just love the combo: Extra Charged+Smoked Ruby  from the Semi-Precious collection.
The two other products I loved this summer are Green Smoke and Shimmermoss.
They're great by themselves or paired with different colors.
Do you have any advice about green MAC&notMAC eye products?
I'd love to read your advice!

S.

OPI-Girls we have a problem.

OPI-Girls we have a problem.
I love makeup, I love nail-polishes, I love colors.
But I have a serious issue with OPI nailpolishes.
In the city I live in I just can't find them.
Well, I couldn't find them.
A couple of weeks ago I found a store that has their entire range.
My wallet is already crying, knowing that I'm going to splurge on the entire line, sooner or later.
Now, I own just six of them.

That's an "El" of a color it's my fave red, perfect all year long.
Infatuation it's perfect when I can't be bothered with two coats, with its sheer pink color.
Cara mia Crimson  it's a great bright red, I love wearing it in spring time.
All Lacquered Up  it's my choice for winter time.
Sky Teal We Drop  it's probably my fave, it's a different blue, one that can't be found in every nailpolish brand.
Espresso your style has a great amount of shimmery and, like every other OPI product I've tried so far, lasts for AGES.
So, I need your help.
Which color do you love the most by OPI?
Need your advice!
With love,

S.

GUERLAIN-ROUGE AUTOMATIQUE -141 Quand Vient L'eté

GUERLAIN-ROUGE AUTOMATIQUE -141 Quand Vient L'eté
It was a lazy morning with L.
This summer has been quite different from the others, no more high-school, no more doing home-works last minute, no more copying  home-works last minute.
So we had a lot of laaazy mornings, shopping, eating, watching Jersey Shore (I know, I know), eating.
In one of those busy busy day, we made a quick (in my opinion, not so quick in L.'s one) visit to Sephora.
During this trip I was looking for a red lipstick that I would feel comfortable wearing in summer.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Russian Red but I feel like it's quite too much for august's night out.
Last year I've used a lot MAC Barcelona Red, it was lovely.
BTW, I can't find it on their site, do you know if it's discontinued?

This year, I fell for Guerlain's rouge automatique.

First of all, I'm such a baby.
The packaging is just brilliant, I could spend days opening and closing my lovely lipstick.
I swatched quite a lot of lipsticks of this range and I loved them all.
Here's how Guerlain describes this product of geniality:

"Automatically Fashionable As Coveted as an It-bag. As Precious as a gem. As Glamorous as stilettos. Automatically Innovative On first glance, you will love the elegance of this structural case. Then you will enjoy its new gesture: Click, clack, and away you go. You look at it. You guess that it is telling you something. Its story? RougeAutomatique’s story, a small Art Deco wonder born in 1936, which was the first lipstick without a cap and with a technique requiring a single hand: What a heritage! But its secret also comes from its innovative formula: 3 objectives, 3 promises upheld Objective 1: Second-skintexture An extremely fine film in total osmosis with the skin thanks to sensory oils + waxes. Objective 2: Boosted colours A tailor-made shine with made-to-measure sheerness thanks to the Cristal Pigment, which makes it possible to obtain luminous, clear and pure colours with no white effect. Objective 3: Remarkable long-lasting hold that that combines immediate comfort and lasting radiance. An exceptional shine, stay-put colour, feather-proof thanks to a complex of oil + resin. Automatically Colourful Reds, oranges, pinks, beiges!! A bouquet of 25 shades, from the most sober to the most dazzling one."

I've decided to buy, with L. good advice, quand vient l'eté, a red not so red to be too red for summertime.
We had fun helping the sales assistant to find the color I wanted.
The boy was oh so sweet and oh so clueless.
I've worked at Sephora during the Christmas period last year and easily spotted my precious new toy.
L. never worked there, but she found it before you can say Ruby Woo.
I actually managed to buy it and take it home with me.
I absolutely loved the color and I've used it on a daily basis.
After love at first sight, I found out that this lipstick can actually be trusted.
It feels great on your lips, it's creamy enough to make it easy to wear but not creamy in a getalloveryourfaceifyou'renotapro way.  It actually lasts a lot, I'm a touch up maniac but don't feel the need to reapply it.
I can definitely recommend this product to everyone, it's just the perfect lipstick in the perfect gold tube.
With love,
S.
P.S. Have you tried any other Guerlain's product?

PLEASE, NOT HUFFLEPUFF

PLEASE, NOT HUFFLEPUFF

I'm still waiting for my Pottermore mail.
Harry has been a great part of my childhood, he taught me a lot about life, friendship and love.
I loved everything about those seven books, not quite everything about the movies, I could reread them once a year.
Actually that's what I'm currently doing, Harry Potter & TOOTP is on my bedside table.
But please Joanne, please, not Hufflepuff.
Gryffindor is, of course, my dream.
But I can see that "daring, nerve, and chivalry" are not quite my thing.

So make it Ravenclaw.
I don't know if I'm "wit and learning" as the Sorting Hat would say, but was Lockhart that wit?

I could even accept Slytherin.
After all, Snape wasn't that bad and I look nice in green and silver.

But Hufflepuff.
I hate Finch-Fletchey, MacMillan, I don't even like Tonks that much -I guess I'm just jealous, she can change her features when she wants to- .
AND DON'T LET ME TALK ABOUT DIGGORY.
I hate the guy, I hate Pattinson, I hate Cullen.
Please, please, not Hufflepuff.
Have you been sorted yet?
With love,
S.

BENEFIT CREASLESS CREAM SHADOWLINER- BIRTHDAY SUIT

BENEFIT CREASLESS CREAM SHADOWLINER- BIRTHDAY SUIT

This is surely one of my fave benefit's products.
I don't really like MAC paint pots, they're good but not just as good as benefit's creaseless cream shadowliner.
They're simply perfect, they're actually crease-proof and I just adore their colors.
Easy to blend, stay all day on my quite oily -ugh- lids.
Here's how Benefit's official site describes them:

"Blendable, beautiful...this do-it-all shadow lines, shades, and contours your eyes with a lovely crease-proof, smudge-proof formula. Mix & match...layer on for the desired depth...go as sheer or as dramatic as you like with buildable color. These gorgeous creams come in 12 blendable shades that can be worn alone or mixed for endless custom looks. You'll love the glass jar...remember to close it tight to keep your cream shadow creamy & dreamy!"

I own a few of these beauties , Birthday Suit, Gossip, Stiletto and I may have R.S.V.P hidden somewhere in this ugly mess.

My all-time-fave is Birthday suit.
I often use it by itself on my eyes, usually when I'm in a hurry or I just can't be bothered to do anything else.
Birthday Suit on my eyes, Hello Flawless! on my face, a random MAC lipstick and I'm quite decent.
Have you ever tried this gorgeous little thing in a jar?
Don't ya think it's quite magic?
With love,

S.

P.S. have any advice about good make up storage? my so called collection is getting out of control!

BENEFIT- BENETINT and CHA CHA TINT

BENEFIT- BENETINT and CHA CHA TINT

Benefit it’s not just a brand.
It’s a lifestyle. With its eye-catching packaging and the great quality of its product this brand  definitely has a top 5 place in my MakeUp Love list.
Benetint is one of the three shades available for this great product.
It’s the first one I bought – besides being the first Benefit product I’ve ever purchased- and I totally fell in love with it.
Here’s how Benefit’s official site (btw, LOVE the new design) describes it:

“Our original rose-tinted stain is kiss-proof, see-through color for lips & cheeks that lasts for hours. Naturally sheer & sexy on all complexions...it’s innocent yet provocative.
Originally created for an exotic dancer in the 1970s, benetint has soared to cult fave status. It's loved by celebs, makeup artists and gals around the world. It's the sexiest flush you can get from a bottle!”

Talking about Benetint it’s probably useless, everybody knows it, has it, loves it.
But it’s my first Benefit crush, the one who lead me to meet my PERFECT FOUNDATION, the one I’m never tired of, the one I’ve  even bought in the lip balm version.

I love the way it stays on my cheeks, it makes me feel healthy and cute, even if I spent the night out and I’m still in the don'ttalkwithme mood.

I quite felt like I was cheating my lovely Benetint when I met ChaChatint.
Benefit describes it this way:

“This mango-tinted stain beautifully blushes lips & cheeks with a tropical sunset hue. Smooch-proof & smudge-proof, this sheer stain will have you looking deliciously sun-kissed for hours.

It’s my first summer with it -being released this year I’m probably just stating the obvious duh- but I know I’m going to wear it in summer and summer only.
I truly love the color but it’s waaaaaay too happy for my shitty mood in autumn and winter.
In those days Benetint is the only one I can rely one, we’ve been together for such a long time.

With love,
S.

GIORGIO ARMANI MAESTRO EYESHADOW QUAD – OCEAN

GIORGIO ARMANI MAESTRO EYESHADOW QUAD – OCEAN

This quad is the first make-up product I bought from the Armani Beauty line.
I was walking around, thinking about random stuff – as:  how can James Franco be so hot?  why my pottermore email  didn’t arrive in my inbox yet?- when I was suddenly attracted by the window of a beauty shop.
I don’t actually remember what caught my attention, I only know that I came out with this beautiful quad and another OPI nail polish ( I have a serious issue with those nail polishes, we'll talk about it in another post).
The official site describes my recent purchase as  a product:

Inspired by the rich colors of the rocks, earth, sea and natural vegetation of the Italian coast, these maestro eye shadow harmonies range from the classic armani matte shades of grey, black and navy to rich, iridescent hues of lilac and gold. The maestro eye shadow palettes are the first armani eye shadow palettes to be enriched with light Micro-fil™ silk powders that melt perfectly into the skin to layer transparent and iridescent effects. ”

I truly like every shades available but, sigh, I could only buy one.
I chose the Ocean shade because my makeup kit is full of neutral eye shadows ,  I really needed  some colors.
I’ve used this quad for a special night with some friends, we had a crazy karaoke night and my eye makeup lasted through the whole night and 'til the next morning, for a total of 12 hours.
Please note that I’ve used UDPP in Eden underneath  it.
The Maestro Eye Shadow quad has everything I look for in a palette,  great packaging,  gorgeous colors and it can be used in tons of different ways.
Guess I’m not able to pull of tons of looks with it, but I surely love to play with it.
With love,
S.
